An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable easy-to-operate device that analyses an unconscious person’s heart rhythm & delivers an electric shock if they're having a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). AEDs are located across UTS to assist in emergencies. In the absence of trained staff, YOU can act. On campus, call Security for help & attach an AED to the victim without delay – open the lid, push it back until it locks & follow voice + text prompts. ❗️ Dial 6 from a UTS phone or 1800 249 559 on mobile for Security in the event of SCA or any emergency
